Van Jones Resigns
Hot off the presses. FoxNews is reporting that Van Jones has just resigned his position as Green Jobs Czar. One down, 43 more to go!
The FoxNews Headline reads:
“URGENT: Van Jones, green jobs adviser, resigns amid controversy over past derogatory comments about GOP and revelations he once joined ‘9/11 truther’ movement.”
“I am resigning my post at the Council on Environmental Quality, effective today,” Jones said.
In a stunning denial, Jones goes on to say that his opponents (not enemies) have launched a vicious attack.
“On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me. They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide.”
The audacity of this man is unbelievable. Instead of apologizing for his past mistakes, he like so many who find themselves in this position is blaming his opponents; as if to say that his own actions do not carry any weight.
Jones ends his letter by saying that he is proud to have worked for the Obama administration and to have made a contribution to Obama’s clean energy policies. He ends his letter by stating that he will continue his efforts; but alas he will have to do it as an ordinary citizen.
